DIY Toothpaste/Powder

Homemade Tooth Powder/Paste When Wet

We love fresh breath, clean teeth and DIY. We also love to know what ingredients we are putting in our body, on our food or using around the house/garden/yard. This great little recipe is something we’ve had on hand for years around the farm.

Ingredients

o 4 tablespoons bentonite clay

o 2 teaspoons baking soda

o 1 ½ teaspoons finely ground unrefined sea salt

o ½ teaspoons clove powder

o 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

o 1 ½ teaspoons ground peppermint leaves, spearmint leaves

o 1 ½ teaspoons unrefined stevia powder – optional

o ¾ teaspoons activated charcoal

* If you don’t have peppermint leaves, just grind some peppermint tea in a coffee grinder.

Directions

Using a stainless steel spoon mix all ingredients in a clean glass jar. To use, add a little to a wet toothbrush and brush as normal. Yes, your teeth might appear gray or black while brushing.

Note: Feel free to add or adjust ingredients based on your needs. For example, if you have very sensitive teeth you might want to skip the baking soda and salt at first, or if you want to focus on removing stains add a little more activated charcoal.
