So many people suffer from mental health issues year round and they are especially exacerbated during the Christmas season. There are a variety of reasons for these feelings including increased expenses, winter lay-offs, memories of a loved one passing away, busy-ness of the season, loneliness, holiday commitments and troubled relationships (to name a few). There are some aromatherapy essential oils that are known to be uplifting.
High notes including lemon, grapefruit, orange, neroli, lime and bergamot are great for raising your spirits. If you are stressed and anxious you might not want to be uplifted but instead calmed. Lavender can be used for both anxiety and depression. Ylang Ylang, Frankincense and Blue Cypress are some of my favorites for anxiety . They are relaxing and soothe the brain. If your anxiety keeps your brain ruminating rosemary would be a great choice.
Planning for the holidays takes a little time. These essential oils can be added to your favorite lotion, diffused, blended in a carrier or dropped onto potpourri. They are wonderful and perform a valuable relaxing effect on the body.
