I get questions about many things frequently. Today was a terrific question about milk recipes....breast milk. I had a little recipe tucked away that I pulled out and am going to share it with you too!
Breast Milk Whipped Body Cream
3 ounces Jojoba Oil
1 TBS Beeswax
1 TBS Shea or Mango Butter
1 TBS Raw Honey
Vitamin E (3-5 Drops)
2.5 ounces breast milk
Essential oil of your choice
Heat Jojoba, Beeswax and Shea or Mango in a double boiler. If you are using Shea you will have to heat it for 20 minutes at a warm temperature for 20 minutes to assure that the graininess is out. How warm? If the beeswax is melted, you’re good. If it is still grainy you can still use it and the grains will melt with body heat. Add the honey during the last 5 minutes of this process.
Make sure breast milk is room temperature. When done with the above add the breast milk and vitamin E. It will be quite liquid. Allow it to return to room temperature. You can speed up the cooling process by putting the pan in the refrigerator. You will need to intermittently whip it to get it to fluff. So, as it cools begin whipping. Then put back in the fridge for further cooling. When it is whipped to a consistency that you like transfer it from the pan to a container and leave the container open until it truly is room temperature and cover. You do not want any condensation in the jar.
